I have been remiss.

Ever since I started this blog I’ve been meaning to tell the World and surrounding counties about the wonderful things done for the Arts and the Arts Community in  Central Ohio.  But well… to be perfectly honest, I know diddly about the Arts Community here. I can read their tracks on the walls and public spaces hereabouts, however, and feel the impact when Beauty and Grace suddenly appear where you least expect them.

But I know most about how the GCAC grants have helped me. Ask yourself: What does a writer want most? I’ll tell you: Money and Fame. And thanks to the grants, I was able to get my first novel, ‘NADA, turned into an audio file, and shortly thereafter it was optioned for the movies by a Hollywood producer. I was also linked up with a superior cover artist, who gave another of my books a truly striking cover, and I believe that this helped in some measure. My novel AESOP’S TRAVELS won the coveted Spur Award given by the Western Writers of America for Best Traditional Western Novel of  that year.

Since then, GCAC grants have helped me place ads in ROUNDUP Magazine, put out by the Western Writers of America, the most prestigious publication in the field. And while as yet I’m not even a blip in the publishing field, my sales and reputation are growing appreciably, and I credit the Greater Columbus Arts Council for this.

Oh, there’s one more thing. The GCAC itself could not exist without the support of the various elected officials of Franklin county and the City of Columbus.  Thanks to them, central Ohio is taking on a new look, one that attracts creative minds and the interest of job-creators.

And it has helped this humble pen-pusher to keep on pushing that pen!
